These works are a focus on a very ordinary thing within iconic representations. As a method of working I had wanted them to be slow to build-up, before becoming completed. They are made using drawing pens on paper, some with added colour: inks, or oil crayons. The text that has informed my paintings over the past four years is Elegy 1 &amp; 2, of the Duino Elegies by Rainer Maria Rilke.
