This video shows my daughter, Theodora, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. I have been to the hospital many times over the years, either accompanying her, visiting others, or being a patient myself. The tropical fish are situated so as to be a therapeutic comfort for those suffering anxious fear or grief. The escalators that can be seen are mechanically functional, but may also have some therapeutic value by virtue of a reciprocating relationship with the placement of the fish tank. I used to work for London’s underground railway system, and spent hundreds of hours in the presence of escalators; watching and listening to them, and sometimes entering the subconscious of their engine rooms.
