Technology alters our surroundings, sometimes expanding it, sometimes reducing it. Through the Covid outbreak not many of us have been able to avoid increasing our use of technology. But, through expanding our means of communication and accessibility it reduces our real world view to a space measured in inches. The specifications of these devices are always limited to the rectangle, vertical or horizontal, restricting our view further, along with this issues of connectivity then distort the images and sounds we receive. This video is fragments of my experience from the year following up to the lockdown. These scenes are varied, but they all contain a question mark as to whether they document a past way of living. Our ability to travel, to socialise, to protest, to celebrate, to even just loiter outside appears to be in a state of limbo at the moment.
