My skin is stained like glass

I began layering and drawing digitally on these self-portrait photographs a while ago.
They were all taken in my dorm room the first year I started living alone and was often scared to go out and explore this alien city all alone. I wanted to turn to lines and thoughts of stained glass and the infinite journeys and views our windows can carry us to and through. Adding their own aesthetic boundaries, colors and scenes, often stained glass ignites images of holy spaces, beauty that can transcend divinity, and when I couldn’t look at myself in the pictures as something other than trapped within my own limitations, the lines found a way to rescue the images.
